Fritz Hansen and Technics create Sound Club for 3 Days of Design

festival-fair · 2026-06-09

Fritz Hansen has collaborated with the Japanese audio brand Technics to create 'Sound Club', an installation featured during the 3 Days of Design event in Copenhagen. This project celebrates the 90th anniversary of the Kaiser Idell lamp, designed by Christian Dell, which is showcased in a limited-edition deep burgundy color alongside a matching Technics turntable. Els Van Hoorebeeck, the creative director, highlighted the importance of fostering emotional connections through music rather than just visual displays. The installation spans Fritz Hansen's flagship store, courtyard, and a special area, offering a podcast series, a listening bar equipped with noise-cancelling headphones, an exclusive vinyl, and live DJs. Original 1930s steel furniture from the archive is also on display, along with recordings of the furniture production process. Dario Reicherl, CEO Asia, remarked on sound's significant yet often overlooked role in shaping spatial experiences. The exhibition is scheduled for June 10–12, 2026, at Løvestræde 5, Copenhagen.
