Frieze Seoul to Move to Zaha Hadid's Dongdaemun Design Plaza in 2027

In 2027, Frieze Seoul will shift its location to the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, marking the fair's first venue transition since it launched in 2022. This change is necessitated by the ongoing redevelopment of COEX in Gangnam, which will continue until 2029. Meanwhile, Kiaf SEOUL, which has taken place alongside Frieze Seoul since 2022, will stay at COEX, maintaining a partnership in programming and ticketing. DDP, completed in 2014, features over 45,000 curved aluminum panels and encompasses a museum, exhibition spaces, retail outlets, and a design center, all linked by pathways and a public plaza. Frieze Seoul director Patrick Lee praised DDP as a remarkable venue that will enhance opportunities for galleries. Before the move, Frieze Seoul will host its fifth edition at COEX from September 2–5.
