Frances Prindle Taft's Travel Sketchbooks Digitized by Cleveland Museum of Art

The Ingalls Library and Museum Archives at the Cleveland Museum of Art is digitizing travel journals from the Frances Prindle Taft Collection. Frances Prindle Taft (1921–2017) was an art historian who taught at the Cleveland Institute of Art for over six decades and specialized in pre-Columbian art. Her sketchbooks document 19 trips to Mesoamerica and European destinations, featuring watercolor illustrations and detailed notes about archaeological sites, landscapes, and architecture. The digitization project, conducted by a summer intern, makes these materials accessible online through the museum's digital archives, allowing global access to researchers and the public.
