Festival (Re)Mix: 13 Artists Respond to Haunted Music at La Pop
La Pop is launching Festival (Re)Mix, a series of four events showcasing 13 multidisciplinary artists who draw inspiration from eerie musical works. Every Saturday, two performances will respond to a specific composition. The first event, scheduled for an undetermined date, is based on Ichiko Aoba's 2020 album Prologue, featuring Jérôme Grivel's vocal exploration of space, alongside Darius Dolatyari-Dolatdoust and Grégoire Schaller, who blend family memories with musical heritage. The second performance highlights Kali Malone's 2019 piece Sacer Profanare, with Annabel Reid and Thibaut Langenais delving into resonance, and Camille Lacroix conducting an electronic séance using KALI. The third event occurs on October 3, focusing on Una Furtiva Lagrima from Donizetti's 1832 opera, while the final installment on October 10 showcases Violence by Alison Skidmore and Andy Stott.
