Festival d'Avignon 2026: 15 Must-See Shows in the IN Program

The Festival d'Avignon has announced its 2026 IN program for the 80th edition, running from July 4 to 25. The selection includes 15 recommended performances, such as Forced Entertainment's "Everything must go" at Cour du Lycée St Joseph, Carolina Bianchi's "Uma Luz Cordial" at Opéra, and Julien Gosselin's "Maldoror" at Cour d'Honneur. Other highlights include Rebecca Chaillon's "La parabole de Seum" at Cloître des Célestins, Boris Charmatz's "Muette" at Chartreuse de Villeneuve, and Ben Duke's "The last Hamlet" at Cloître des Célestins. The program also features works by Marion Siéfert, Lucie Antunes/Mathilde Monnier, Jeanne Candel, TG Stan, Ahmed El Attar, Andréa Jimenez, Gwenaël Morin, and Katerina Andreou. Additional optional shows include pieces by Kyung Sung-Lee, Salin Djaferi, Christiane Jatahy, Muriel Imbach, and Jaha Koo. The editorial team notes that the 80th edition lacks risk-taking and innovation compared to previous years, missing major figures who have illuminated past editions. The selection is not ranked in order of preference.
