DxO ViewPoint 6 Adds AI Masking for Local Perspective Correction
DxO has just launched ViewPoint 6, their latest and most sophisticated tool for correcting perspectives. This version introduces AI masking technology, which automates the creation of masks in ReShape Fusion, a feature first seen in ViewPoint 5. With this update, you can tweak specific parts of an image, like straightening a building without disturbing the rest. Jean-Marc Alexia, DxO's VP of Product Strategy, pointed out that these AI masks help maintain the overall framing while fixing issues like converging verticals and barrel distortion, which are common with wide-angle lenses. ViewPoint 6 supports RAW, JPEG, and TIFF files, offers exposure and white balance adjustments, and can be used as a standalone program or a plugin for Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. It's priced at $129.99, with an upgrade for ViewPoint 5 users available for $84.99, plus a 30-day free trial to try it out.
