Documentary 'La Pietà' Premieres at Thessaloniki Festival, Exploring Climate Change Through Personal History

Directors Rafa Molés and Pepe Andreu have released their documentary 'La Pietà' at the 28th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival. The film examines climate change through the story of the Björn brothers, who lived isolated near Iceland's Vatnajökull glacier in the early 20th century, documenting its changes long before climate change became a recognized concept. The documentary incorporates archival materials, the abandoned Björnsson farm, and the voice of Flosi Björnsson read by Icelandic actor Ingvar Sigurðsson. It focuses on emotional and aesthetic responses to environmental loss rather than scientific data, aiming to inspire personal responsibility through beauty and narrative.
