Documentary Explores Los Angeles Queer Spaces Through Seven Deadly Sins Framework
John Ira Palmer directed the documentary short film 'Out of the Corner of Our Eye' in 2024. The 10-minute work examines seven historic queer venues in Los Angeles, connecting each to one of the seven deadly sins as an ironic commentary on perceptions of queerness. River Gallo provides narration, with cinematography by Tag Christof and music by Henry Oliver. The National Endowment for the Arts provided funding, and SCI-Arc Channel commissioned the piece for their Queer Perspectives in Architecture series.
