Derrière, a Highlight at Théâtre de l'Atelier

Derrière, a theatrical piece by Nicolas Chaigneau and Claire Laureau, is set to open the 2026-27 season at Théâtre de l'Atelier. The production was a revelation and audience favorite at the 2025 Festival Off Avignon. It is the second part of a diptych titled Le Vide, following Les Galets au Tilleul. Both works share a common goal: to explore seemingly uninteresting situations and extract their sensitive, absurd, and poetic qualities with humor and precision. Derrière uses a variety of makeshift constructions and relies on the audience's imagination to make a spectacle that repeatedly fails captivating, sublimating the relative tragedy of that failure.
