Demanio Marittimo KM-278: 16th edition on Senigallia beach explores 'Order & Chaos'
The 16th edition of Demanio Marittimo. KM-278, a marathon of arts, architecture, design, and poetry, will take place on the public beach of Marzocca in Senigallia from 6 PM on Friday, July 17, 2026, to 6 AM the following day. Curated by Cristiana Colli and Pippo Ciorra, the event centers on the theme 'Order & Chaos' and features two stages with speakers addressing contemporary issues through design, technology, art, landscape, and the Adriatic dimension. The program includes discussions on the Adriatic in the works of Rainer Maria Rilke and Umberto Saba (with Andrea Bruciati, Massimo Raffaeli, and Marco Federici Solari), a contemporary Vitruvius, the Ars Aevi museum in Sarajevo, architecture as collective act, Marilyn Monroe, geopolitics, free radio, and intelligences/natures/cultures. A site-specific installation by Oliviero Fiorenzi, 'Taumatropio', created with architecture firm Ossigeno and composer Andrea La Pietra, interacts with the public over twelve hours, activated by wind and inspired by the thaumatrope principle. The project 'Inquieto Sole', led by science journalist Paolo Conte, offers astronomical observation of solar activity at sunset (6 PM) and dawn (5:30 AM). Screenings include 'Il tempo della montagna' and 'Il Tempo della Terra' from 10 PM to 3 AM, and films from the MAXXI Architecture Film Lab from 2 AM. The winning project of the 'Framing the Horizon' competition will be on display.
