Dallas Invitational Expands to London for Frieze Week; The Met Returns Art to Nigeria; Bottega Veneta Launches Prize
During Frieze Week, Dallas dealer James Cope will introduce the London Invitational at the Chancery Rosewood, showcasing 12 exhibitors, including François Ghebaly and Lomex. Over the past four years, the Dallas Invitational has expanded into a fair featuring 22 galleries. Cope is receiving guidance from Jessica Nowitzki and Melissa Ireland as he seeks to broaden his international reach. In a separate development, the Metropolitan Museum of Art will return three pieces to Nigeria: two 16th-century Benin plaques and a 14th-century Ife Head, as a result of collaborative research. By 2030, the Barbican's Sculpture Court is set to reopen, backed by a £147,000 renewal grant. Additionally, Bugatti is planning a 60-story skyscraper in Miami, designed by Brandon Haw Architecture, while Bottega Veneta is partnering with La Cuadra to launch the International Architecture Prize.
