CURA festival bids farewell to Praça Raul Soares with rest as resistance
The final edition of CURA – Festival de Arte Urbana will take place at Praça Raul Soares in Belo Horizonte from August 19 to 30, 2026. The festival's theme, 'Descansar Enquanto' (Rest While), presents rest as a vital political act and a means of resisting fatigue. Curated by Luciara Ribeiro alongside a group of local artists and cultural figures, the event is inspired by Tricia Hersey's book 'Descansar é Resistir' (Rest is Resistance). It will showcase live monumental paintings starting August 19, with free activities from August 26 to 30, encompassing art, music, and urban interventions. Founded by women, CURA is gearing up for its tenth anniversary in 2027, with Priscila Amoni highlighting the significance of rest for the city.
