CSM BA 2026: Peckham Parking Garage Becomes Runway for 40 Designers

Central Saint Martins moved its BA graduate show from King's Cross to a Peckham parking garage for the first time in 15 years. The July 2025 event featured 40 designers from at least 27 countries, presenting collections that rejected quiet luxury in favor of caustic colors, personal storytelling, and experimental techniques. Ukrainian designer Polina Kadilnikova won first prize with a collection inspired by war, featuring a tin dress with naturalistic cut-outs. Harley Angrabeit received the H&M Sustainability Fashion Award for pieces referencing Ridley Road market, including a red fishnet vest turned speaker. Yuki Naka, another H&M award winner, created garments from soap that lathered on the runway. Course leader Sarah Gresty noted the cohort grappled with identity and real-world issues. Other standouts included Daniel Haworth's paper doll dresses, Cassie Ambroz's candy-colored legwarmers, Buzz Shatford's neon latex beauty queens, and Luke Saul's jeans made from oil-painted calico. The show's soundtrack ranged from Drake to Eastern European folk tunes.
