Cory Arcangel Creates Bell and Pixelated Visuals for Massive Techno Festival Kappa Futur

Cory Arcangel installed a bronze bell and created pixelated visuals for Seth Troxler's set at Kappa Futur Festival in Turin, which draws 125,000 people over three days. The bell, titled fulgura frango (2026), was placed on the Lab Stage and rung by DJs to signal drops. Arcangel used his deep-frying software Cookery, developed with Henry van Dusen, to process footage of water and fire into low-resolution clips that appeared broken among the festival's 4K screens. The collaboration was initiated by festival co-founder Luigi Mazzoleni and curator Giovanni Carmine, director of Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen, who invited Arcangel.
