Copenhagen Design Week 2026: Sustainability, Reissues, and Independent Shows

Copenhagen Design Week 2026, centered around 3daysofdesign, is evolving with a focus on sustainability, circular design, and collaborative exhibitions. Independent offshoot Other Circle returns for its second edition, featuring heavy hitters like Nike and Jamie Bush. Traditional Danish brands continue reissues, with Fredericia releasing Nanna Ditzel's Trisse collection and Montana celebrating Verner Panton's centenary with a limited Tangerine orange Panton Wire table. Flooring manufacturer Tarkett presents 'Beginnings & Endings' at Galleri Susanne Ottesen, curated by TILT, with Yinka Ilori's 3daysofdesign debut using cradle-to-cradle carpet. The VÆRKTØJ exhibition, founded in 2024, focuses on the sewing machine as a tool, featuring works by Erwan Bouroullec, Lærke Ryom, and Sia Hurtigkral. Material Matters Copenhagen returns for its second edition at Ukraine House with 19 exhibitors exploring materials like mycelium and agricultural waste. Other Circle runs through June 13 and includes Nike's installation from Milan Design Week, Palet's graphic tiles, and circular initiatives like Wasted from Bali and Offsite from Eindhoven. Additionally, Kengo Kuma & Associates presents 'Earth | Tree' at Copenhagen Contemporary through February 2027, a Douglas fir installation inspired by komorebi, in collaboration with Dinesen, Petersen Tegl, and Anker & Co. The festival also introduces Long Table Dinners, and brands like Aesop and Porsche activate during the week.
