Concéntrico 2026: Logroño's Architecture Festival Engages All Senses

Concéntrico 2026, the 12th edition of the architecture festival, launched on 18 June in Logroño, Spain, with 22 installations by international architecture and design studios. Despite 30-degree-plus heat, crowds explored works that emphasize touch, smell, and hearing alongside vision. Highlights include AAU Anastas' 'Cathedral for One', a marble cocoon with an audio piece by Hania Rani; IC 98 and Suomi/Koivisto Architects' mature garden in ruins; and Dancing on Architecture's 'El Plano Latente', which invites dancing and will be set aflame for the summer solstice. Climate-focused projects like Raumlabor's 'Hot, Cool, Soft' and Noof Group's 'Shade, Breeze, Cooling' address thermal vulnerability. Participatory works include Smiljan Radić Clarke's 'Circus', 2050+'s 'Frontones Danzantes' reviving Basque pelota, and Taelon7's rest installation. Director Javier Peña Ibañez founded the festival in 2015, growing it to its largest edition yet. The festival runs through 23 June 2026.
