Como Car Week 2026: Vision BMW Alpina, Brabus Bodo, and Bizzarrini Centenario debut

festival-fair · 2026-06-04

The 2026 edition of Como Car Week (15-17 May) featured two major events: the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este and Fuoriconcorso. BMW Group's design director Adrian van Hooydonk unveiled the Vision BMW Alpina concept, a 5.2m-long coupé with a non-hybrid V8 and a shark-nose referencing the 1978 Alpina E24 B7. The concept signals the relaunch of the Alpina brand under BMW control, acquired in early 2026. The first production Alpina will be a 7-series super saloon with a V8. At Fuoriconcorso, held at Villa del Grumello, Brabus presented the Bodo, a million-euro hyper-GT with a 1,000hp twin-turbo V12 based on an Aston Martin Vanquish, named after founder Bodo Buschmann. Bizzarrini marked founder Giotto Bizzarrini's centenary with the Centenario Edition of its 5300 GT Corsa Revival, a gloss-black, gold-wheeled special edition that will be the last of the reborn 5300 GTs. Kimera Automobili launched the K-39, a V8 Koenigsegg-powered hypercar with a carbon-fibre monocoque, referencing the Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo and Lancia 037. The Concorso d'Eleganza's top honour went to a 1937 BMW 328 'Bügelfalte', owned by Stefano Martinoli, who received an A Lange & Söhne 1815 Chronograph. The public vote winner was a 1963 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster. The event also featured an exhibition of automotive photography by Helmut Newton.
