Cibeles de Cine 2026: 11th edition focuses on contemporary Spanish cinema

Cibeles de Cine returns to Madrid's CentroCentro for its 11th edition from June 25 to September 8, 2026, featuring over 70 films with a focus on contemporary Spanish cinema. The program includes commercial releases, auteur works, restored classics, cult films, and family sessions. It opens with Pedro Almodóvar's 'Volver' (2006) on its 20th anniversary. The visual identity features a poster by illustrator Beatriz Ramo, dialoguing with Juan Gatti's original artwork. An exhibition titled 'Un país de puro cine' displays portraits of Spanish film figures by photographers from El País, installed as an aerial intervention. The program highlights Spanish productions with Q&As, alongside international films and festival favorites. Anniversary screenings include 'Moulin Rouge!', 'Spirited Away', 'Pulp Fiction', and 'The Princess Bride'. Classics like 'Vertigo', 'Manhattan', 'Cabaret', 'Taxi Driver', and 'Belle Époque' are also shown. Screenings are in original language with subtitles and wireless headphones for immersive audio in the Galería de Cristal.
