Caudete Announces First Quick Painting Contest for 2026 Biennial

The Caudete Town Council in Albacete, Spain, has issued a call for its first Quick Painting Contest, part of the eighth Biennial of Watercolor. Open to artists aged 18 and over, the event will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 8:30 to 17:00. Participants may paint anywhere within the municipality of Caudete, using any technique on blank supports such as canvas, board, or paper. The theme is Caudete, its urban center, surroundings, or people. Registration is via an online form, and stamping of supports will occur on the same day between 8:30 and 9:30 at Plaza del Carmen. Artists must submit their works by 17:00 at the stamping location, signed and displayed on easels in a designated area; works cannot be removed until after the awards ceremony. The exhibition will be open to the public from the end of jury deliberations until the prize giving at 19:00 in Plaza del Carmen. Non-winning works may be purchased by visitors at the artist's price. Prizes include a first prize of 1,000 euros from the Department of Culture, a second prize of 500 euros from Trespalacios Medicina Estética, a third prize of 400 euros from Platea Concept Suites, and two fourth prizes of 200 euros each from Carnicería Milán and Victoria Bañón, all with diplomas. Winning works become property of the sponsors, and authors grant the town council and sponsors rights to disseminate and reproduce the works with attribution.
