Bullfighting Stars Morante de la Puebla and Roca Rey Announced for 2026 San Fermín Festival

The 2026 San Fermín Festival in Pamplona will feature prominent bullfighters Andrés Roca Rey and Morante de la Puebla as central attractions. Organized by La Casa de Misericordia de Pamplona, the event is scheduled from July 5 to July 14, 2026. Peruvian matador Roca Rey will perform twice during the festival, facing bulls from the Jandilla and Victoriano del Río ranches, following a strong March 2026 that reinforced his box office appeal. Spanish bullfighter Morante de la Puebla returns to Pamplona after his 2025 debut where he achieved the honor of exiting through the main gate. He is expected to confront bulls from the Álvaro Núñez ranch. The festival's livestock lineup includes bulls from ranches such as José Escolar, Cebada Gago, Jandilla, Fuente Ymbro, Miura, La Palmosilla, Victoriano del Río, and Álvaro Núñez. The rejoneo (mounted bullfighting) event will be handled by El Capea - Carmen Lorenzo, while the novillada (young bull fight) will feature animals from the Pincha ranch. This programming highlights the continued significance of traditional bullfighting events within Spanish cultural festivals.
