Bruno William Creates Visual Identity for IBM's AI Debater Project

In September 2021, designer and animator Bruno William worked with Perception NYC to develop motion design concepts for IBM's Project Debater, an artificial intelligence system that constructs arguments from factual data. The creative challenge involved designing an approachable visual persona capable of expressing nuanced emotions such as confidence, humor, and disagreement. William explored various aesthetic directions including 2D, 3D, abstract, and experimental approaches. The project was led by Creative Director John LePore and Producer Eric Daly at Perception's New York studio.
