Brightspot Market Draws Record 217,000 Visitors as Indonesian Brands Take Center Stage in Jakarta
The latest edition of Brightspot Market, which takes place biannually at Jakarta's Agora Mall, saw 251 brands selected from a pool of 3,000 applicants. This event attracted a remarkable 217,000 visitors over ten days in May and June, achieving significant sales despite economic challenges in Indonesia. Co-founder Anton Wirjono initiated the event in 2009 to support local brands, initially facing difficulties with sponsorship. Thanks to ongoing backing from Bank Central Asia, entry remains free. In 2025, the market will span two weekends to further increase attendance. This year introduced Taman Brightspot for food brands. Wirjono also aims to expand into Malaysia and Singapore. Notable brands included Saja, Hijack Sandals, Shop at Velvet, Hotel, and Raito.
