BRAFA 2023 Returns to Winter Slot in Brussels with Art Nouveau Theme
BRAFA Art Fair, Europe's longest-running art fair, returns to its traditional winter dates from January 29 to February 5, 2023, at Brussels Expo. The 68th edition is guided by an Art Nouveau theme, coordinated with Brussels Region's year-long celebration of the style. A carpet based on Victor Horta's designs will welcome visitors. The fair features 130 exhibitors offering over 10,000 works spanning archaeology, Old Masters, contemporary art, design, rare books, and jewelry. Eighty specialists conduct rigorous vetting to ensure authenticity. Notable galleries include Galerie de la Présidence (Derain, Giacometti, Matisse), Galerie von Vertes (Albers, Calder, Warhol), and Bernier/Eliades Gallery (Marisa Merz). Thirteen galleries debut, including Ars Antiqua from Milan. Italian participation includes W. Apolloni & Laocoon Gallery, Barbara Bassi, and Cortesi Gallery. The King Baudouin Foundation will display Art Nouveau works, and two BRAFA Art Talks will explore the theme.
