Bosch Parade 2026 Celebrates Imperfection with Floating Artworks on Dutch River

The 2026 Bosch Parade, running from June 18 to 21, will feature nineteen new floating artworks drifting down the Dommel river in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. This biennial event honors painter Hieronymus Bosch (1450-1516), known for his symbolic depictions of the afterlife and early genre paintings. Curated by multidisciplinary artist David Bade, co-founder of Instituto Buena Bista in Curaçao, this edition's theme 'Powered by Defects' explores imperfections. At the Citadel's medieval fortress, the Garden of Earthly Delights serves as an open-air studio where the public can observe artists. Since 2010, the parade has attracted thousands to the region. Participating artists include Skypunch Collective (NL/CH/IT) with 'NAÎAD', Rob van Dam (NL) with 'ZZNAKE', Mieke Goris, Geert Verbist, and Bart Vankrunkelsven (BE) with 'Egotripper', Boost Producties (NL) with 'Waterqueens', Caz Egelie (NL) with 'Eat me/feed me, help me/need me', and ATM Model Art (NL) with 'W’atlandis'. Photographers documenting the event include Jona Harnischmacher, Willeke Machiels, and Ben Nienhuis. Bade previously created the community project 'Your Contemporary Demons' for the 2024 parade.
