Blackmagic Design Unveils URSA Cine Immersive 100G Camera for Live Apple Immersive Video
Blackmagic Design has launched the URSA Cine Immersive 100G, a camera tailored for live immersive production with Apple Immersive Video. Featuring dual 8K by 8K capture and 16 stops of dynamic range, it uses a unique RGBW sensor design with larger photo-sites for enhanced color super sampling. The camera includes the URSA Live Encoder, enabling ProRes encoding and SMPTE-2110 IP video output via a 100G Ethernet port. It has already been utilized for live Los Angeles Lakers games this season, viewable on Apple Vision Pro. Apple's Spectrum Front Row offers up to 150 Mbps feeds with seven viewing angles, including perspectives like the scorer's table and player tunnel. Commentary is provided by Mark Rogondino and Danny Green. CEO Grant Petty emphasizes the camera's role in transforming live events, from sports to concerts. Priced at $26,495, availability is set for Q3 2026.
