Biennale Podcast Episode Features Fastvold, Dafoe, and New Archive Space

The ninth episode of La Biennale on Air, the official podcast of La Biennale di Venezia, is now available. Norwegian filmmaker Mona Fastvold discusses the role of archival research in her historical films, including The Brutalist (Silver Lion for Best Director 2024), ahead of the opening of the new Archivio Storico della Biennale at the Arsenale on June 1–3. Willem Dafoe, artistic director of the Biennale Teatro, introduces the 54th International Theatre Festival (June 7–21, 2026), titled Alter NATIVE. Greek-Albanian director Mario Banushi, winner of the Silver Lion for Theatre 2026, presents his trilogy Romance Familiare. The episode also features artist Linda Goode Bryant, selected by Koyo Kouoh for the 61st International Art Exhibition In Minor Keys, and Wayne McGregor, artistic director of the Biennale Danza, with a speech on peace from the Biennale della Parola event.
