Bangkok Art Biennale 2026 Adds 27 Artists, Unveils Venues
The Bangkok Art Biennale (BAB) has announced 27 additional artists for its fifth edition, themed 'Angels and Mara,' running from October 29, 2026 to February 28, 2027. The theme references Bangkok's Thai meaning 'City of Angels' and explores tensions between virtue and corruption, divine messengers and the Buddhist demon Mara. Curated by Apinan Poshyananda, Adulaya Hoontrakul, and others, the biennale now totals 42 artists. New participants include Channatip Chanvipava, Un Cheng, Leiko Ikemura, Sin Wai Kin, and Hannah Woo. BAB 2026 will take place across ten venues: Wat Arun, Wat Pho, Wat Prayoon, Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Museum Siam, One Bangkok, centralwOrld, National Museum Bangkok, Siam Paragon, and Art Centre at Silpakorn University.
