Avignon OFF 2026: Élodie Shanta's 'Résine' Brings Feminist Comic to Stage

The Théâtre Buffon in Avignon will host 'Résine', a theatrical adaptation of Élodie Shanta's comic, from July 4 to July 25, 2026, as part of the Avignon OFF festival. The story follows Claudin and his wife Résine, who flee after she is accused of witchcraft. They settle in the village of Floriboule, where they face false accusations, witch trials, and sexist villagers. The production features songs and aims to defend women's rights. Adapted by Charlotte Bottemanne and Mathilde Caillavet, who also directs, the cast includes Bottemanne, Christophe Mai, Veronica Mounié, Lola Nédélian, and Pierre-Antoine Suarez or Stanislas de Lachapelle. Performances are daily at 10am, with breaks on July 10 and 17. Tickets range from €11 to €19. The show is recommended for ages 5 and up.
