Aspen's Summer 2026 Art and Music Scene: From Arch Connelly's First Museum Survey to Up in the Sky Festival
CULTURED magazine highlights nine must-see cultural events in Aspen for summer 2026. The Aspen Art Museum presents "Arch Connelly: Straighten Your Wig and Pray," the late East Village artist's first solo museum survey, running through Oct. 11. The museum also hosts AIR 2026: Figures in a Landscape (July 27–31), featuring performances by Camille Henrot, Kali Malone, Morgan Bassichis, and Matthew Barney. Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village celebrates its 60th anniversary with a summer series (July 9–Aug. 6) including talks by Roberto Lugo, Marilyn Minter, and Lisa Phillips. The Resnick Center for Herbert Bayer Studies presents "Double Take: Recurrent Dialogues in the Art of Herbert Bayer" through Apr. 3, 2027, showcasing 70 rare works. Baldwin Gallery hosts Ross Bleckner's "Eunoia" (July 24–Sept. 7). Casa Tua Aspen marks its 25th anniversary with a photography exhibition featuring Gregory Crewdson, Richard Mosse, Lara Porzak, Anastasia Samoylova, and Roe Ethridge. Red Brick Center for the Arts organizes Mall Fest 50, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Aspen Pedestrian Mall with works by Rachel B. Hayes and Chris Erickson. The Aspen Music Festival and School summer season runs through Aug. 23, with debuts by Matthew Aucoin and Yuja Wang, and Caroline Shaw as Principal Guest Composer. Up in the Sky Music Festival returns to Buttermilk Ski Resort Aug. 7–8, headlined by John Summit and Dom Dolla.
