Artecreha.es joins Hoyesarte.com's cultural ecosystem, expanding access to its extensive art history resources

Artecreha.es, founded in 2007 by Javier Jiménez Zorzo, Ignacio Martínez Buenaga, and Jesús Martínez Verón—all art history PhDs and educators—has integrated into the Hoyesarte.com platform. This Spanish-language art portal now reaches wider audiences through what its founders call "the best digital art publication." Julián Zabala, editor of Hoyesarte.com, praised the "exceptional quality" of nearly two decades of work by these three experts. The site combines rigorous documentation with accessible explanations across five main sections. "Women in Art" profiles about one hundred female artists who overcame obstacles, analyzing their most representative works. "Miradas" offers over 500 detailed commentaries on artworks spanning all periods, styles, contexts, and major artists, covering architecture, sculpture, painting, and new visual media. "Did you know…" features curiosities, anecdotes, biographical singularities, heritage issues, and historical themes, complemented by an iconography section reviewing classical and Christian narratives. "Art Podcasts" present representative works through narration alone—without images—potentially serving visually impaired audiences. Finally, brief videos provide didactic explanations of major art history periods. The founders emphasized their commitment to making content both academically rigorous and widely accessible for educational and public use.
