Art21 Hosts Second Annual Film Event Featuring Artist Premieres and Discussions

Art21 organized the second edition of Art21 at the Movies on October 8 and 10, 2025. The two-day program focused on the theme 'Between Worlds,' inspired by the twelfth season of Art in the Twenty-First Century. The opening night at Metrograph featured premieres of films by artists Dyani White Hawk, Lubaina Himid, Tuan Andrew Nguyen, Josh Kline, and Delcy Morelos. A subsequent day of screenings and talks was held at the Museum of Modern Art. Presentations included behind-the-scenes looks at films about Arthur Jafa and Hannah Levy, a discussion with directors Penny Lane and Matt Wolf, and a conversation between Lubaina Himid and Thelma Golden. The event concluded with a screening of Sophie Calle's 1996 film. The gathering brought together artists, filmmakers, and audiences to celebrate artistic storytelling.
