Art Paris and PAD 2026 showcase contemporary art and 1970s design in Paris spring season

Spring arrived in Paris with the dual events of Art Paris and PAD. The 28th edition of Art Paris took place at the Grand Palais, featuring 160 galleries from 20 nations, with 30% of them being newcomers. The fair primarily drew in collectors from France and Europe, displaying artworks priced under €100,000, including pieces by Etienne Chambaud (€10,000-€30,000) and Sojourner Truth Parsons. The Promises section showcased emerging galleries like Galerie Prima, which successfully sold all works by Bryce Delplanque (€6,000-€9,000). Meanwhile, PAD concentrated on design, highlighting 1970s creations from artists like Mario Botta and Gaetano Pesce. Noteworthy attendees included Julia Restoin Roitfeld and Simon Porte Jacquemus. Following these fairs, the Parisian auction season is set to commence.
