Art-o-rama's 20th Edition: Low Fees, Young Galleries, and Marseille's Rise

festival-fair · 2026-04-26

Art-o-rama, the Marseille art fair, will take place at Friche la Belle de Mai from August 28 to 30, celebrating its 20th anniversary. However, festivities are postponed until next year due to the cancellation of the 2020 edition caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The event has grown significantly, featuring 38 exhibitors compared to just five galleries previously, with 19 newcomers. Director Jérôme Pantalacci emphasizes a commitment to showcasing emerging galleries and artists, supported by affordable stand fees that encourage innovative work. Approximately half of the exhibitors are participating for the first time, including representatives from Lima and Tokyo. Notably, around 70% of the exhibitors are usually from abroad, enriching the art landscape in Marseille. A standout feature will be Berlin gallery Dittrich & Schlechtriem's display of Lukas Städler's latest photographic series.
