Art Explora Festival's Museum Ship Docks in Barcelona and Ibiza with Cultural Program

The Art Explora Festival, featuring a museum ship, has arrived in Barcelona's Port Vell at the Barcelona Nord dock, where it will stay until April 6, 2024, before moving to Ibiza's marina from April 23 to 29. This free-access event transforms ports into cultural hubs with exhibitions, immersive experiences, and live performances. Launched in 2024, the traveling project aims to broaden art access by collaborating with local curators and creators, having previously visited cities like Durrës and Athens and attracted over 350,000 visitors. The ship, designed by architects Axel de Beaufort and Guillaume Verdier, includes an immersive soundscape by IRCAM and virtual reality experiences. Onshore, three pavilions feature exhibitions such as 'Present' with the Louvre, 'Bajo el Azur' curated by Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel and Blanche de Lestrange, and a photography show focusing on Mediterranean themes. Local heritage items and performances by artists like Poncili Creacion and Nadah El Shazly are also part of the program.
