Art Cologne revives Mallorca edition after 19-year hiatus, betting on island's matured art scene

From April 9 to 12, the Palau de Congressos de Palma will host Art Cologne Palma Mallorca, marking its first return to Spain since 2007. Fair director Daniel Hug points out the revitalized art landscape, showcasing emerging galleries such as Galería Fermay, Florit Florit, and La Bibi + Reus. The resurgence began with Art Palma Contemporani two and a half years ago. Among the 88 participating galleries, 32 hail from Spain, nearly half of which are based in Mallorca, along with 26 from Germany and other international exhibitors. Hug underscores the fair's Spanish essence. The Balearic Islands have drawn global entities like Hauser & Wirth, and the event includes sections like Gran Saló and Parkour. The venue was designed by Francisco Mangado.
