Art Cologne Relocates to Confex and Hall 1 for 2027 Edition
Art Cologne will move to the Confex conference and exhibition center and Hall 1 on the Koelnmesse grounds for its 2027 edition, scheduled for October 28–31. The relocation coincides with the fair's 60th anniversary; founded in 1967 as the Kölner Kunstmarkt, it was the world's first art fair. Confex opened in 2024. The new spaces are intended to give exhibitors more room for modern and contemporary art and to enhance exchange among international galleries, collectors, institutions, and art enthusiasts. Gerald Böse, chairman of the Koelnmesse management board, described the move as a step in the fair's evolution, providing a contemporary setting for the anniversary that connects its international significance with the possibilities of a modern trade fair environment. The 2026 edition, taking place November 5–8, will be the last in Hall 11. Further details about the new exhibition spaces for 2027 are to be announced in spring of next year.
