Art Basel Paris 2026 Marks Photography's 200th Anniversary with Five Standout Works
The fifth edition of Art Basel Paris is set to take place at the Grand Palais from October 23 to 25, 2026, featuring 211 exhibitors and a photographic program that commemorates the bicentennial of photography. Directed by Karim Crippa, the event will include an Irving Penn retrospective at the MEP and the exhibition Remember Me at the Bourse de Commerce, showcasing 700 pieces from over 80 artists. This milestone marks the 1826 moment when Joseph Nicéphore Niépce took a view from Le Gras. At Konrad Fischer Galerie (Booth C47), Bernd and Hilla Becher present a water tower typology (1975-2010), while Sprüth Magers (Booth A22) highlights John Baldessari's Two Chickens (1990). Additionally, Galerie Isabella Bortolozzi (Booth C7) features Annie Ernaux's Bedroom, Christmas Morning, Continued (2003), and Thomas Ruff's Porträt (V. Liebermann) (1998) is also at Konrad Fischer Galerie. Eileen Quinlan's Survivor Moon (2020/2026) is on display at Miguel Abreu Gallery (Booth B3).
