Art Basel Miami Beach Cuts to 272 Exhibitors, Drops Meridians Sector for 24th Edition
The 24th edition of Art Basel Miami Beach will host 272 exhibitors, a decrease from last year's 285, with the Meridians sector being removed and a new layout introduced. The Galleries section will see a reduction from 226 to 204 exhibitors, while Positions will lose four booths, and both Nova and Survey will each lose two. Director Bridget Finn refers to this reduction as a 'refinement.' The event is scheduled for December 4–6. In other news, Cartier has broadened its young-talent award to encompass jewelry, now named the Cartier Talents of Tomorrow Prize, available to students from Switzerland, France, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland. Farshid Moussavi has been awarded the 2026 Soane Medal, and Ann Temkin will depart from MoMA in January after 18 years. Dolly Parton's Life of Many Colors Museum opens today in Nashville.
