Art Basel 2026: Gallerists' Guide to Basel's Best Eats and Drinks

Art Basel 2026 will take place June 18-21 in Basel, Switzerland, featuring over 4,000 artists from five continents represented by some 290 galleries. The fair, operating for over five decades, has inspired sibling fairs globally. Gallerists from Casey Kaplan, Galerie nächst St. Stephan, Lehmann Maupin, STPI, and Xavier Hufkens share their favorite Basel spots. Casey Kaplan (booth K24) presents a group exhibition with Patricia Fernández Carcedo, Kevin Beasley, Sydney Cain, and Giorgio Griffa. Galerie nächst St. Stephan (booth A6), founded in Vienna in 1954 and now owned by Rosemarie Schwarzwälder, focuses on international abstraction. Lehmann Maupin (booth C4), co-founded by Rachel Lehmann and David Maupin in 1996, champions identity-challenging artists. STPI (booth S15), a Singaporean non-profit, presents a solo exhibition by Udomsak Krisanamis. Xavier Hufkens (booth B18) represents Louise Bourgeois, Robert Mapplethorpe, and Alice Neel.
