Archtober 2026 Opens Across New York City with Theme 'In Our Hands'
Today marks the start of Archtober, New York City's month dedicated to architecture and design, which will continue until October 31. Over 100 cultural institutions will participate, offering a variety of tours, talks, screenings, and workshops. The program for 2026 will include Newburgh, Rhinebeck, and New Windsor. This year's theme, 'In Our Hands,' focuses on issues like climate change, AI, and political division. Events are divided into categories such as Nature, Media, Culture, History, and Education. Notable activities include 'Building of the Day' tours by OMA and Studio Gang, a film premiere by a Pritzker Prize winner at MoMA, and a Halloween tour of a sanitation garage. The Center for Architecture will unveil three exhibitions on October 1, while the Architecture & Design Film Festival begins on October 12, and Open House New York Weekend is set for October 16–18.
