Ara Pacis Museum launches immersive podcasts on Julio-Claudian dynasty

On May 15, 2026, the Museo dell’Ara Pacis in Rome will launch an exciting initiative featuring eight immersive podcasts that explore the Julio-Claudian dynasty. These podcasts, created by Foglio Edizioni and accessible in both Italian and English through QR codes, will transform the museum's Gallery of Busts—home to plaster casts of Augustus's relatives—into an engaging storytelling experience. Visitors will discover notable figures such as Agrippa, Marcellus, Gaius and Lucius Caesar, Antonia Minor, and Germanicus. Supported by Roma Capitale – Assessorato alla Cultura and Fondazione Sorgente Group, Claudio Parisi Presicce, the Sovrintendente Capitolino, remarked that this collaboration enhances the museum experience with innovative methods. Paola Mainetti, Vicepresidente, highlighted the dynasty's significance in their cultural pursuits, while Valter Mainetti, President of Fondazione Sorgente Group, stressed that sharing the stories of Augustus's heirs connects the public to history. The project also features six plaster casts donated by the foundation in 2017, derived from originals in its collection.
