Apple Updates Final Cut Pro with Auto Mask and AI Tools in Creator Studio Refresh

Apple has updated its Creator Studio suite, bringing new AI-powered features to Final Cut Pro, Pixelmator Pro, and other creative apps across Mac, iPad, and iPhone. Final Cut Pro on Mac introduces Auto Mask, which uses on-device AI to automatically recognize and isolate subjects like skin, hair, sky, foliage, and clothing without manual tracking. Users can preview detected elements and apply color correction or effects locally. The tool complements the Magnetic Mask from late 2024. A revamped Match Color feature analyzes reference frames to harmonize clips shot in varied lighting. Other additions include AI-generated captions and Edit Detection, which splits rendered video back into original clips on the timeline. Final Cut Camera gains Clean HDMI Out for pristine video signal to external monitors and ProRes LT support. Pixelmator Pro now allows importing frames directly from Final Cut Pro for thumbnails or social graphics, and integrates Apple's generative AI image tools. Updates also extend to Pages, Keynote, Numbers, and Logic Pro. The updates aim to streamline workflows for video editors and hybrid creators.
