Anacapri's Festival del Paesaggio Celebrates 10 Years with 'The Observer'

The Festival del Paesaggio in Anacapri, Italy, celebrates its tenth anniversary from September 6 to November 8, 2026, at Villa San Michele. Established in 2016 by curators Arianna Rosica and Gianluca Riccio, the festival uses landscape as a means to comprehend reality, building on Edwin Cerio's 1922 Convegno sul paesaggio. This year's edition, titled 'The Observer,' focuses on human observation amidst digital imagery and artificial vision, honoring the 2022 work of Ilya and Emilia Kabakov. Featured artists include Francis Alÿs, Ali Cherri, and others, with installations throughout the villa. Notable highlights are Luca Vitone's telescopes in the garden and Andrea Francolino's performance for The Flag Project on September 5. The festival also includes the second Jumeirah Capri Palace Prize for Visual Arts, with a jury led by Nicolas Bourriaud and a public discussion on September 6. Supported by Villa San Michele under Kristina Kappellin, the event reflects ten years of artistic residencies and global partnerships, including collaboration with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Stockholm.
