ALL CAPS Festival 2026 Transforms Rotterdam-Zuid into an Open-Air Archive

So, back in 2018, Daniël Claessens and Dave Vanderheijden kicked off the POW! WOW! Rotterdam festival, which was later renamed ALL CAPS in 2022. Instead of just a temporary showcase, this street-art festival has built a permanent collection for the public to enjoy. After Vanderheijden left in 2024, Claessens became the artistic director, teaming up with Katherina Doxiadis as the managing director. The 2026 edition took place in Lombardijen, Rotterdam-Zuid, giving artists a lot of creative leeway while ensuring that one-third of the participants were from abroad, one-third from Europe, and one-third from the Netherlands. The murals are set to last at least five years. For 2024, they expected 45% of funding to come from subsidies, and photographers like Martha Cooper and Nika Kramer documented the event featuring artists like Stine Hvid and Kalani Ware.
