Aftershoot Launches Free RAW Editor Photon with AI Coach for Photographers
Aftershoot has introduced Photon, a complimentary RAW editing software for macOS and Windows, which includes an AI Coach that provides suggestions and explanations for adjustments. This tool is aimed at novice photographers interested in RAW shooting but who may lack editing expertise. According to Aftershoot, many RAW editors are complicated and require subscriptions, making Photon’s user-friendly design stand out. It accommodates RAW and JPEG files from various recent devices, including iPhones, Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Sony, OM System, and Panasonic, with more camera support contingent on user interest. Photon also features manual editing options, allowing users to select their preferred level of assistance. Founder Harshit Dwivedi likens the AI Coach to a mentor for enhancing editing abilities. Photon is currently available for free.
