Adobe Expands AI Design Tools Across Firefly and Creative Cloud

Adobe has enhanced its AI design capabilities across various platforms, including Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Frame.io, by launching the Creative Agent, which automates tedious tasks while allowing professionals to maintain creative control. The Premiere interface now boasts a dark split-panel design, complete with a chat bubble for commands such as "Make a new sequence with the drone footage," enabling the AI to autonomously manage bin naming, cut assembly, and asset sorting. In Photoshop, batch processing for background removal and layer organization is available; Illustrator can produce fifty file variations from a spreadsheet; InDesign applies brand PDFs to layouts; and Frame.io organizes assets and creates B-roll. Additionally, on the Firefly front, still in private beta, new features include persistent Elements and Projects, along with the ability to generate brand kits from text descriptions. Quick Cut can auto-assemble clips, and storyboard-to-video transforms frames into complete sequences. Adobe's AI tools are also integrated into ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, and Gemini, extending their reach beyond Creative Cloud. A survey of 16,000 creators indicated that 85 percent believe the ultimate decision should remain with humans, aligning with Adobe's model where the agent manages repetitive tasks while professionals retain creative judgment.
