A Cielo Aperto: Latronico's Open-Air Museum Celebrates 11th Edition

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

In 2017, Latronico, Italy, hosted the 11th edition of A Cielo Aperto, a public art initiative curated by Bianco-Valente and Pasquale Campanella. This project, organized by Associazione culturale Vincenzo De Luca, converted the town into an expansive museum featuring permanent, site-specific installations. Activities included a workshop led by Carlo De Luca, the project '(T)here' by Giovanni and Giuseppe Giacoia, a performance from Filippo Berta, and a photography workshop conducted by Maurizio Montagna. Berta's piece 'Dentro o fuori' explored the boundaries between public and private spaces. The initiative is self-sustaining, prioritizing community involvement and historical research by Ernesto De Martino, with discussions underway for future enhancements.
