3D Movies Finally Worth Watching Thanks to Xreal and Meta Glasses
After years of unsuccessful attempts with 3D technology, video glasses and VR headsets now deliver a distinct screen for each eye. Last year, the author evaluated the Xreal One Pro glasses, which provided 1080p independent views for both eyes. Standalone VR headsets, including Steam Frame, Meta Quest, and Apple Vision Pro, accommodate 3D movies, with the Apple Vision Pro featuring 4K, HDR, and 48fps. Sarah Malkin from Meta announced that 3D films will be available for streaming on Meta Quest 3S, Quest 3, and future Meta VR Glasses, with subscriptions to Disney Plus, HBO, Paramount Plus, and Peacock launching later this fall. By spring, Meta's TV app will host hundreds of 3D films, though access to 3D content remains challenging due to limited Blu-ray options.
