12th TranscenDanses Season at Théâtre des Champs-Elysées

The 12th edition of TranscenDanses at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées (TCE) in Paris features a diverse program curated by Vony Sarfati of Productions Internationales Albert Sarfati (PIAS). The season opens with Malandain Ballet Biarritz performing L'Oiseau de feu, Boléro, and Minuit et demi ou le cœur mystérieux, celebrating Thierry Malandain's 30-year tenure. Boston Ballet returns with Cacti by Alexander Ekman and Vertical Road by Akram Khan. In January, Ballet de l'Opéra de Lyon presents House by Sharon Eyal and Le Sacre du printemps by Mats Ek. March brings Alexander Ekman's A Midsummer Night's Dream performed by Joffrey Ballet of Chicago. The season closes with two retrospectives: one celebrating Jiri Kylian's 80th birthday with five pieces by Norwegian National Ballet, and a program of five works by the late Hans van Manen performed by Dutch National Ballet, marking the retirement of director Ted Bransen. Since its inception in 2014, TranscenDanses has become a key dance season in Paris, balancing contemporary works with classical repertoire.
