Sharon Butler's 'Green Wall 3' presente nella mostra per il 90° anniversario degli American Abstract Artists all'Art Cake
L'opera di Sharon Butler 'Green Wall 3' (2010-2024) sarà esposta in 'Abstract by Definition: An Index', che celebra il 90° anniversario degli American Abstract Artists all'Art Cake di Brooklyn. La mostra, curata da Saul Ostrow, presenta 90 artisti e si terrà dall'11 aprile al 30 maggio 2026. L'opera di Butler fa parte della sua serie 'Green Paintings', influenzata dai 'Jealousy Paintings' di Edvard Munch e dall'opera del 1774 di Johann Wolfgang von Goethe 'I dolori del giovane Werther', esplorando temi di gelosia, riecheggiando il 'mostro dagli occhi verdi' di Shakespeare dall'Otello. Il 9 maggio parteciperà a un panel con Ostrow e Tom McGlynn. Inoltre, una edizione limitata del romanzo di Goethe sarà disponibile in galleria il 25 aprile. La mostra apre l'11 aprile, presentando artisti come Alice Adams e Liz Ainslie. Butler ha realizzato il dipinto nel suo studio Dumbo situato al 20 Jay Street. Il Two Coats of Paint Residency Program ospiterà Dale Emmart dal 13 al 17 aprile, con open studio il 15 aprile a Long Island City.
